A Note From Erin: I am currently experimenting in the direct mesh method of mosaic making.  I am finding great joy in creating a collage-like mosaics.  I like piecing together images and transfering tile to these ideas.  This current work, Desert Mosaic, is culled from images I found from vintagemagazines, record covers and travel advertisements.  I am inspired by the works of my parents and included the orange tree in the background, as a nod to their work.  When completed, the mosaic will measure 3 x 5 feet.  I am very interested in creating more of these mini murals.  Here is a look at the piece in progress...
